This multi-modal workshop with James O'Dea, IONS President, Susan Burns, MA, LMHC, NBCCH, and Patrick Marsolek, CHT on personal and collective transformation amid critical times is for professionals and public. Evening experiential intro (1/31/08-$10) on shifting consciousness at pivotal points to find authenticity, purpose and place in a changing world is followed by 2 full days integrating care full experience of mind-body connection, group field, transformative practices, and personal story. CE: Social Worker, Counselor, Nurse, MFT, LCSW, others pending.

About the Presenters:

James O'Dea is the President of The Institute of Noetic Sciences and a native of Ireland. Prior to IONS, James was executive director of Seva and director of the Washington DC office of Amnesty International, testifying before Congress, meeting with two U.S. presidents and many foreign heads of state, and representing Amnesty International to the State Department, the White House, and the World Conference on Human Rights. He created and currently co-leads a series of dialogues on social healing.

Note: James O'Dea will be speaking publicly in Portland the day before the Introductory evening for this event (1/31/08) at Portland Unity (1/30/08). The 1/30/08 evening presentation followed by panelists is entitled: Conscious Universe: Science, Faith, and Activism for a New Cosmology.

Susan Burns is a licensed mental health counselor and advanced clinical hypnotherapist in private practice in Bellevue, WA since 1989. She integrates a holistic psychospiritual approach, selectively implementing a rich tool kit of modalities at the intersections of mind and body. She is specialized in somatic transformative therapy, emotional release work, and expressive therapy. She has also had professional careers as a teacher, learning specialist and wellness consultant and is the founder of IONS Northwest, a regional hub for the The Institute of Noetic Sciences Community Groups. Her group work is transpersonal and highly oriented to personal and collective transformation.

Patrick Marsolek has been a practicing clinical hypnotherapist since 1999 and has a private practice in Helena and Great Falls, Montana. He is an expert on intuition, hypnosis, consciousness and mind/body healing, and has published the book, "Transform Yourself; a self-hypnosis manual."

As director of the Inner Workings Resources he teaches classes on Self-hypnosis, Intuition and Remote Viewing, and Dialogue and Communication. He offers presentations to health-care organizations, hospices, social workers, and businesses on stress-relieving and self-empowerment techniques.

He also leads transformational workshops and retreats around Montana, working with landscapes, group intention, healing and personal transformation. He has produced series of audio relaxation and self-hypnosis CDs.
