Dark, Light and Solstice
The
Garden of Lights at Bellevue Botanical Gardens hosts a spectacular
array of seasonal lights contrasted against a chilly, dark, evening
sky. What a miracle that the shortest days of the year arrive
majestically with the counterpoint of light and how symbolic for these
times on our planet! May your holidays be full with the joy of sharing
light in its myriad forms and the stillness of presence.

My Note on Upcoming NW
Events with Stanley Krippner PhD and The Sponsors
After
producing several workshops with Dr. Stanley Krippner PhD in Portland,
Seattle, and Bellingham, I can say that he has touched many people and
impacted many lives. This time I have arranged for his work to be a
little different, dividing his time here between 2 organizations. I
have coordinated an event for one of the CG Jung Society’s monthly
offerings on 1/08-09 (intro and 5 hour workshop). Then, we will be
traveling to Olympia for a one day workshop (an 8 hour intensive
characteristic of previous workshops) in Olympia. Transform Your
Mythic Path: Personal Mythology and Dreamwork (1/10/10) is hosted by
Transformative Groups and sponsored by The Association For Humanistic
Psychology with the support of three universities.
Some have been
asking on the difference between the Seattle and Olympia events. The
Intro to Personal Mythology, Friday (1/08) introduces a dream workshop
that is based on Junigan theory and is 5 hours long, in the style of
other Jung Society Seattle events. The Personal Myhology workshop in
Olympia is 8 hours and integrates a range of theories and practices,
as well as teaching participants how to work with others. It also
features a student rate of $55.
Many thanks to LIOS and Saybrook University, Evergreen College State College, and St. Martin’s
University, and the CG Jung Institute
for their support of the event in Olympia.

Social
artist and architect, Jean Houston, wrote the Introduction to the text
Personal Mythology (David Feinstein PhD and Stanley Krippner PhD)
which will be available at the NW events for purchase and book
signing.
It's a wonderful message for our
present times, and offers a glimpse into why working with personal and
cultural myth is so essential for updating the outmoded stories of our
past to meet the dynamic needs of the present, and the future
unfolding from within.
