Don Mihaloew, EDd, LMFT professor, writer, and marriage and family therapist offers an all day change seminar focused on a means to understand limiting behavioral patterns shaped by unconscious forces. Practically examine core issues, reframe personal directions, learn how to live intentionally and purposefully in a dualistic world.

Through lecturette, discussion, and experientials, we will look at ways of  moving into allowing the inner dwelling place of our higher natures to speak to us. Coming from Jungian, Adlerian, Existential Humanistic, Object Relations, and Systems notions, the workshop stresses a shift from cognitive, ego only to an numinal, ego archetypal approach.

Dueling With Dualism
(Detailed Description)
Working With Opposites, Paradoxes, and Unconscious Forces

Anybody with a healthy pulse does not need psychology or any religion to tell us that life can be a struggle. As humans, we tend to be awake just enough to feel the crush of conflicting vectors but typically without sufficient awareness or skill to handle these matters with grace, clarity, or consistency. This workshop will focus on both everyday as well as cosmic realities of actual and apparent contradictions and paradoxes and show how this dualism is a basic constituency of life and being.

Through lecturette, discussion, and experientials, we will look at ways of  moving through and beyond these dilemmas by first embracing them and then allowing the inner dwelling place of our higher natures to speak to us. Coming from Jungian, Adlerian, Existential Humanistic, Object Relations, and Systems notions, the workshop stresses a shift from cognitive, ego only to an numinal, ego archetypal approach.

This is a an all day change seminar focused on a means to understand limiting behavioral patterns shaped by unconscious forces. Practically examine core issues, reframe personal directions, learn how to live intentionally and purposefully in a dualistic world.

Topics and Skills included in this workshop are:

Definitions of concepts such as ego, archetypes, core-issues, dualism, complexes, teleology, and unconscious “shadow” material

Examination of several core-issue and limiting belief models and their relation to character formation

The Principle of Positive Opposites, a model on the psychodynamics of individual, relational, and community choice-making and action formation

Elements of current research in neuropsychological findings and what we can know about how change occurs and reasons why it doesn’t

End of Workshop formation and adoption of personal change images and  commitments of change.

What Workshop Participants Say:

---"I found the workshop to be particularly relevant as a therapist in dealing with individuals that are challenged by long standing developmental and attachment disorders. This was a helpful perspective specifically in dealing with relationship and personality disorders."

---"Don has an incredible way of bringing very deep and critical realities into view. I was able to integrate profound depth psychology concepts very easily and realize many unconscious things about myself. This was a great gift for me..."

---"Don is a humorous, gracious and insightful presenter who does an excellent job at engaging seminar attendees. Somehow he walks the line between the earth and the sun."

---"I had a great time learning about the history of psychology and how to approach my own as well as my GFT clients' areas of defensiveness, looking at the underpinnings of dualities and the possibility of a non dualistic approach. Don Mihaloew gives an extremely enjoyable, entertaining, and educative workshop on looking at the struggle between dualism and the integration of wholeness."

---
Thank you for bringing Don to Seattle. It was awesome!!! I loved that guy and was just glued to every word he said. It was so enlightening and so awareness raising for me personally.
